I don’t know how many winters Josh and I have said, “This winter, we’ll finally rest.” And yet, that magical season of rest never seems to arrive on its own.

In this episode of Everyday Homesteading, I’m sharing what I’ve been learning about intentional rest. Not accidental rest or someday rest, but the kind of rest you choose on purpose and protect with intention. The kind of rest that brings clarity, peace, and renewed motivation for the seasons ahead.

I talk about what real rest looks like in the middle of homestead life, from simplifying our daily rhythms and reducing digital noise to creating spaces in our homes that invite us to slow down. Rest doesn’t mean abandoning responsibility. It means building a healthier rhythm that sustains us.

If you’re feeling tired, stretched thin, or quietly longing for slower days, I hope this episode encourages you to pause, breathe, and give yourself permission to rest.
